The Review - E.L.F. Makeup Remover Pen

If you are anything like me then you'll know what I am talking about when I say that applying mascara without smudging it all over my upper eyelid is harder than doing my taxes! I am so clumsy and always in a rush and don't know how to work those lash card thingies, so when I saw that ELF do a Makeup Remover Pen, I was so intrigued, I immediately bought it.

E.L.F. Makeup Remover Pen

The Makeup Remover Pen works exactly like the nail polish remover Pens that have been on the market for years. I have never seen one for makeup though so for me it was a revelation. Basically it's a felt tip pen which is filled with makeup remover that you can use on targeted areas (such as smudged mascara marks). This costs $3.00 at ELF and is sold on drugstore.com as well as in Target. I bought it at half price so I was prepared to be underwhelmed and throw it out if I had to. But as with many ELF products, I was impressed. This does exactly what it should. I would never advice using it on your waterline or on large areas to remove makeup but for those couple of mascara marks it works amazingly well.

E.L.F. Makeup Remover Pen

I have smudged some black eyeliner and some mascara onto the back of my hand and just used this pen to remove them and you can see the results.

I have to say thought that you have to be patient and rub the pen a little on the mark for the mark to come off completely. I just think it's a cool idea as it's more precise and quicker than using a Q-tip. What do you think?

  2. Thanks for your kind words on my blog, they sweetened my day!
What a clever idea -I always just use cotton buds but with waterproof mascara, that doesn't really help...

    Have a great day,

    1. Hi Rachel,

I usually clean it with some eye makeup remover when I clean my brushes on a weekly basis.

  6. An eraser for eyeliner is something I need in my life. Not only would it save me cottonbuds but I would imagine it being a joy to use! I can already picture myself drawing eyeliner tattoos all over my arms to just remove it with this pen! Ahh the hours of fun one could have..
