February 2014 Favourites

This is turning into bit of a pattern right? I am always late with my favourites post!! Hope you still have the appetite to read this and find it a fun read.

February 2014 favourite products
This month has been über busy and so I have stuck to using the same makeup products every day to create the same look everyday. Kinda boring but at the same time I am loving the dent this has caused in some of my makeup products (don't you love using stuff up, I sure do).

There have been some stand out products that I have loved though. The Bobby Brown Hydrating Face Cream ($55) is one of them. I have reviewed this hero skincare product before and you can read about it in more detail here. I love that the jar is huge - 50 ml so it lasts a long time and I can justify the price. Spring is nowhere in sight in Chicago and my skin still feels like it needs to be hydrating at any possible opportunity so this Hydrating Face Cream has been my saviour.

Another product that has save another part of my body - my lips has been the Reve de Miel Lip Balm by Nuxe. I mentioned this lip balm in my 5 lip balms I love post. Everyone harps on about this product so I'll keep it short. I love it and it has been my lips' night time blanket for months now. I believe it can be found at most online beauty retailers, but if you are looking to buy now Escentual (a UK retailer that ships internationally) is doing a third off all French Pharmacy Brands that it sells which includes Nuxe stuff!! So grab a bargain.

Now onto some makeup. Like I mentioned, I'm using the same stuff every day, so it better had be good. Calvin Klein's Tempting Glimmer Sheer Creme Eyeshadow is great. It is such a wearable colour that is more than just neutral and the formula is drier so it lasts on my eyes all day. Some people have managed to find these little pots of beauty in Poundland (for a quid)!!

The next product is an oldie. I think I bought the Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder ($28) in 2008!! It is a very finely milled soft pink powder with some shimmer that when blended on the face just softly brightens without leaving a white cast as some powders do. I am going to love it for a long time to come.

I recently talked about my Korres Zea Mays Blush in Apricot ($24) and you can read my detailed review of the product here. I use it as an all over face powder to set my foundation. It's a fantastic product and I am definitely going to look for other more brighter shades to wear as a blush.

My last favourite this month is the Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Color in Mystique Mauve ($8.99). This is my favourite lip product of all time and the shade Mystique Mauve is a soft mauve shade that for me is a my lips but better colour. These are more than just glosses or even liquid lipsticks, they are pigmented glosses that have a lot of shine to them, they go on smooth and last for at least 4 hours on me and they protect my lips like a lipgloss would. I doubt we'll ever find a better formula at the drugstore. I have bought 8 of these, and will be dedicating a blog post to them soon.
