I love luxe products, who doesn't, and it's difficult to think of Kevyn Aucoin products as anything but luxe. The packaging oozes style and sophistication. The packaging of these blushes and the pan size is the same as some of the other Kevyn Aucoin products such as his Candlelight highlighter or the Sculpting Powder. The rich maroon clad packaging is made of good quality plastic with a fabulous sized mirror and the brush is pretty good quality however I don't like the shape for blush application. There is a gold clasp and the words Kevyn Aucoin are stamped in gold writing. Maroon and gold.. how classic.
I prefer using my Nars Yachiyo brush or a Stippling brush to make sure that I don't over do the colour. But as I am someone who is always in a hurry, I love that I just need one tiny swipe for each cheek and some blending and I'm done. Don't you hate it when you have to back into a blush five times for the colour to show up on your face? You won't have any issues like that with these. They also last all day on me.. I am talking about 8 hours!
If you are comfortable with de-potting blushes then you could combine the two blushes into one by dumping the brush and using the brush compartment for the other blush. I think it would make traveling with these a cinch.
These blushes are incredibly pigmented, so you only need the tiniest amount and you can build them up. I was amazed to learn that these two scary looking blushes transform my cheeks without looking garish at all (make sure you apply a little and slowly build up). I think I would never have to repurchase even if I used these daily, so the $20 each was a great investment.
The Fira is a bright mango shade and the Myracle is hot pink and both are matte.
