Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation

This is another star product of the week post. I think these mini review / recommendation posts are great so I am hoping to continue doing these. Today we are going to talk about about this amazing product which really is a foundation I will use for the rest of my life.

It was my husband's graduation last weekend and we were going to be out all day. It was sweltering hot and I needed a foundation that was going to last and by that I mean REALLY last all day. It was no choice really, it had to be the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. Estee Lauder has two foundations in this range, the Double Wear (original) is a cult classic but I rarely wear full coverage makeup so this was not really for me, when they brought out the light version I was so happy, I immediately hunted one down in my shade.

The light version keeps the same qualities as the original version but is light - medium coverage and caters for combination to oily skin. The main reason why this line of foundations is so popular is their lasting ability. They are truly amazingly long lasting, even when you don't use setting powder. The other fab things about the Double Wear Light are that it comes in a wide range of colours and is readily available. It comes in my preferred packaging which is a squeeze tube, so you don't have to stick you fingers in a jar or tip a bottle to get liquid out. The finish that this foundation gives is so much like skin - neither overly dewy nor overly matte. It feels so comfortable to wear that I rarely remember that I have makeup on when I use this foundation.

I use the Pixi Poreless primer (which is really nice but does not help makeup last) with this foundation as I love the glowing healthy effect it creates. I have done a post about the Pixi primer vs the Benefit Porefessional primer here.

The foundation retails for $36.00 for 30 ml but I use so little that I think mine will last me at least 6 months. I really think it's worth the money. You can find it here and in most countries around the world where Estee Lauder is sold. If you like comfortable, like-skin, light to medium and long lasting coverage this foundation is for you. Give it a whirl and let me know your thoughts and experiences with this or other Estee Lauder products.
