The Guest Post - Guest Blogger #2 - Top 5 bold lip colours for the Summer

I am so so excited to reveal my guest blogger for July. She is one of my favourite beauty bloggers and is also one of the first blogs I followed on bloglovin! Tasha is from Australia and is only 16, but you'd never guess it from the amazingly mature posts on her fabulous blog - Shiwashiful. Please do visit her blog, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. Thanks so much Tasha for writing this month's guest blog post.

Hello Missy in the Mirror readers! I'm Tasha over from the blog Shiwashiful and was delighted when Shruti asked me to do a guest blog post, which I am very excited about! I live in Australia where it is currently Winter, and I am very jealous of everyone in the northern hemisphere experiencing Summer - and the fun, bright makeup that goes along with it! I'll be sharing my top five bold and bright summer lip products with you today. I myself love rocking a bright lip in the Summer (and I still do it in the Winter!) as it means I can go quite subtle pretty much everywhere else on the face. We all know, less is more in the Summer heat! Anyways, let's get on to the lippies!

I have chosen four lipsticks and one liquid lipstick/gloss hybrid.

Mac Morange
Ever since 2012, where the colour of the year was Tangerine Tango, orange has definitely become a very trendy and popular colour. Morange is a beautiful shade that, for an orange, it extremely wearable! It has a good amount of red in it which stops it from looking pumpkin-y! It has an Amplified finish which means it is super pigmented and it has a very comfortable feel on the lips, a slight sheen meaning it's not at all drying. It's very long lasting too. I think this would be a great alternative to the classic red lip for a more summery twist.

Mac Viva Glam Nicki
This is actually one of the newest additions to my collection so I haven't gotten a chance to wear it yet! It such a stunning colour though! It's a light yellow-toned pink meaning it is much more wearable that a cool-toned pink. It's lightness is precisely what makes it so striking, it's very mod and definitely makes a statement! It has a satin finish which is similar to the Amplified, it is very pigmented with the slightest sheen.

Rimmel Apocalips in Stellar
The Apocalips are newish to the Australian (and US) market but sure have gotten their fair share of hype. They are super pigmented, glossy, liquid lipsticks that apply really smoothly with the lovely doe-foot applicator. Stellar is a beautiful warm pink shade that definitely borders on coral. I find they wear the best when applied thinly - you still get the same punch of colour but when applied thickly they can move around and are easily transferable. In thin layers they sink much better into the lips!

Rimmel Lasting finish by Kate in shade 20
This is an awesome lipstick from the Drugstore! The shade is absolutely amazing and one of my favourite bright pink lipsticks! It is a bold cool-toned fuchsia pink. It is super pigmented and very long lasting on the lips. It has a semi-matte finish that isn't overly drying but definitely assists in its wear time. I would really recommend these Rimmel lipsticks!

Topshop Ooh La La
Time for a more subdued shade but still packs a punch in brightness! This is a light peach with a teensy hint of pink in it. This is a rather glossy, slightly sheer formula. I adore the colour and think it would be great for spring/summer time however it doesn't totally suit me. It settles a bit into the lines of my lips and the lightness of it washes me out slightly. I wear it really well worked into the lips and it is still super pretty! Definitely one I would recommend to fairer skinned gals.

So those are my bright Summer lip picks! I know I am pumped for Summer to come around here, haha. I hope you enjoyed the post and thank you to Shruti for letting me write for her blog!

What lip products will you be rocking for Summer?
