February 2014 Empties

I love this time of the month, when it's time for me to look in my empties bin and find out how good I have been. I have a mountain of stuff, I remember when all my makeup used to fit in one large makeup bag (which got stolen, but that's another story) and I would really like to get to a more simpler way of life again. Obviously being a beauty and skincare blogger this will be a challenge but I believe there is a middle ground that I can attain some day :)

Here are my february 2014 empties!! Quite a lot of full sized products so I am quite happy with my efforts this month.

Empties
Herbal Essences Brilliant Shine Shampoo ($3.97), Mitchum Advanced Control Deodorant in Arctic Rush ($3.99), Molton Brown Bath and Shower therapy in Warming Eucalyptus ($30), Lancome Bi-Facil ($28), Korres Body Butter in Jasmine ($29)
Ren Vita-Mineral Radiant Day Cream ($45), Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara/Brow Gel ($4.49), Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream ($10), Caudalie Vinosoure Moisturising Sorbet ($39), Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector ($10), Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist ($22)
Kenneth Cole Black ($67) - My husband loved this, Penhaligon's Eye Reviving Cream, Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream ($69), Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream ($16), Makeup Forever HD Powder ($34)
Lots of foil packets and sachets
Since there are too many products to talk about in detail, I am just going to mention any standout products that I would like to repurchase and any major failures that I wouldn't ever want to try again.

Loved -
a.  Lancome Bi-Facil ($28) - Great for removing stubborn eye make up or waterproof mascara.
b. Caudalie Vinosoure Moisturising Sorbet ($39) - I reviewed this product here and I absolutely loved using it.
c. Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector ($10) - If you work with your hands a lot or are in need of a great thick moisturising protecting hand cream that you can use as a hand mask at night too, look for this product. It's only $10 and delivers a lot for that price.
d. Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream ($69) - Loved this eye cream, it super thick and really hydrates and moisturises under the eye without irritating the eye area. This 3 ml sample lasted me 3 weeks of using twice a day! So the full size will last forever.

e. Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Hydrator ($65) - I only had a 1.5ml sample of this but I am HOOKED! This may be the best face cream for daytime I have ever used.

f. Ahava Mineral Botanic Rich Body Butter in Hibiscus & Fig ($28) -  This stuff is amazing. One of the best body butters I have used. The scent was intoxicating and the cream was so easy to blend into my skin and absorbed instantly to leave a gorgeous hydrated skin feeling. Lovely.

Hated -
a.  Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream ($16) - This stuff is just gross. I tossed the sample without finishing it. The colour match is ok for me (might be too dark for most pale skinned folks), but the cream starts rolling into little beads when I blend it into my skin. Not good.
b. Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist ($22) - Granted I only had the deluxe sample from Ipsy which was 30 ml, but this stuff stings my eyes and the spray is more like a jet spray as opposed to a mist spray so you actually get drenched in this with water running down your face every time you spray it. Rubbish.

  3. Thanks hun. Yeah it's wonderful. In fact I am using a sample of the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (which is thinner than the Extra Repair) and I think I much prefer the Extra Repair one.

  4. They are pretty generous with samples so you could either find a Bobbi Brown counter or call their CS team to ask for some. x
