6 little wonders for my skin

It's been a while since I did a post just telling you about a few new skincare items I am using. I love trying new skincare products and luckily my skin doesn't freak out with regular changes.

The past month or so I have been trying to spend less on Beauty items (saying that I have a few haul posts coming up!!) and am trying to use my samples and what is already in my stash.

Of all the new things that I am trying skincare wise, I have picked 6 little wonders that have really worked for me and my skin has been loving these.

The first current love is the Nude Skincare Cellular Renewal Moisturiser (15 ml) this was part of a Nude Skincare set that I picked up here for $52 and the set included this moisturiser, a bottle of the ProGenius Treatment Oil (15ml) and a 100 ml Skincare Perfect Cleansing Oil Face & Eyes, which is my ABSOLUTE favourite cleansing oil in the world!

The Cellular Renewal Moisturiser comes in this beautiful purple glass jar with a silver coloured cap. The first thing you'll notice when you open the jar is the gorgeous smell. I have to say if you are not keen on scented skincare or herbally smelling products this one might not be for you. But I love the scent and I am always looking forward to smelling this. It's a subtle sophisticated herbal scent. The texture of this cream is thick but not too thick. It spreads easily and is absorbed within 30 seconds by my skin. There is no greasy feeling or oily residue left. I feel hydrated and happy every time I use this. I noticed that this particular moisturiser is not available on it's own (the set is great value though so I'd suggest you try the set) but it's sister product which is called the Advanced Cellular Renewal Moisturiser. The Advanced version is probably just a newer version of this moisturiser but I haven't tried that one yet.

The next product is also by Nude Skincare and also from the same set that I mentioned before. This is their cult favourite product, the ProGenius Treatment Oil. This oil has the same gorgeous scent as the moisturiser, so the same caveats apply. The ProGenius Treatment Oil comes in a purple glass bottle with a silver coloured top. When you unscrew the top you will find a long dropper attached. This makes it very easy to dispense the right amount (3 drops does it for me) onto your palm. The oil is a slightly thicker texture than say olive oil. It does take me about a minute to absorb into my skin and it leaves my face every so slightly greasy, but very hydrated. I know many people like to mix this in with their moisturiser but I like to use this after my toner before my serum and give my face the sandwich treatment which works much better for me. I would recommend this oil to dry or mature skin but I do enjoy using it even though I have neither!

The third love for me comes from a brand that is new to me and I haven't seen many blog posts about. It's called Ginvera and the product is called Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel.

Ginvera say, "Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel works by specifically targeting the cornified skin layer, dissolving and removing the dead skin cells on the top most epidermis layer. This gentle yet effective exfoliating action zeros-out blackheads thoroughly and painlessly and helps remove deep layers of dead skin. When the dead skin barrier is removed, the new skin underneath is revealed, allowing your skin’s healthy radiance to glow from within. It helps prevent pimples and controls oil secretion to help you stay shine-free the whole day!"

The sample I received only has about 5 g but the full sized product contains 60 g and retails for $22. This product is meant for people with sensitive skin who cannot use the average face exfoliator. Ginvera say that this marvel gel should be used daily which I was a bit anxious about but have been doing and I really see results already! I have been massaging a little dollop of this onto my face for about 30 seconds at which point white beads will start forming (which they say is dead skin etc. eeew!) and then rinse it off with water. I find that my skin is brighter, less greasy and my pores are much less congested. At this point I am thinking of buying the full size.

The next two little wonders are eye creams. The first one is my day eye cream (again a sample from Ren). The Ren Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel is a clear gel that spreads so easily onto my under-eyes and has an amazing cooling effect that I love (you can pop this into the fridge for an amplified cooling sensation). I personally cannot tell if this has a smell to it which is good. This eye gel does not make my eyes water or anything awful like that. I find that it is a purely hydrating eye cream which works really well to smooth out the skin ready for my under eye concealer!

The next eye cream has a bit more a kick to it. It's Philosophy's Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Retinoid Eye Repair. I found that I may be developing crows feet around my eyes and also there are a couple of deeper wrinkles under my eye which is very alarming. So I decided to raid my stash and find an anti-aging eye cream (which hopefully will transform me into my 20 year old self - yes please!). Unfortunately miracles like that don't happen to me but I must say that I do enjoy using the Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Retinoid Eye Repair cream at night and find that I am waking up with lighter dark circles and smoother skin around my eyes. It hasn't make a huge difference to my wrinkly under eyes though. But I still believe that if I keep using this cream I will see greater results so I wanted to include it in my post. I will be buying a full sized bottle during Sephora's Chic Week in April.

The last little wonder is a serum that is as old as the hills (or so it seems) but it's new to me. It's the Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate. I have a good sized 7 ml sample and I think this bottle will last me a while as I only use 2 drops each time to cover my face and neck. The serum dries almost instantly and leaves my skin with a matte texture which I appreciate (especially with Spring and Summer on the way). I find that my moisturiser sits well on top of this serum and there have been no breakouts or adverse reactions at all. With me turning 30, I have to look to more anti-aging components in my skincare and so far I like this serum. I have a few more sample bottles of this lying around so I will report in a few months to let you know if this particular product lived up to my expectations long term.
