Multi-use is in-glot

I have mentioned that Inglot currently has a huge sale on their US website where they are selling their discontinued items or items which will be re-launched with new packaging for a huge discount. Since I am a bargainista and cannot resist a good bargain, I decided to place an order and I included one of their liquid blushes called Inglot AMC Face Blush in shade 84 ($7.00 for 15 ml).

Now I know what you are thinking, this blush extremely nude! It might work as a bronzer on some but definitely not on my tan Indian skintone. Well I agree with you, I did not buy this blush for it's intended purpose, but to use it as a foundation!! I love being inovative with makeup and think that many products in our collections can be used in so so many different ways. If you aren't a makeup addict like me, it's a great way to slim down your kit and use products up.

Since I ordered this straight off the Inglot website, I had no way of swatching the shade that I was ordering so I was a little doubtful but I had another idea for using this product if I found the shade to be too dark. Sneaky or what? :)

Let's see what the product looks like then, see below the swatches. I think it's a tad dark for me, and it's a little pink as well. But since it's nice and runny and hence easily blendable I decided to use it as my foundation yesterday and if it looked bad, it would be on to Plan B.

So what do you think? I think I do look a little pink and a little tan. However, it's definitely a shade of foundation that I can get away with. I love the dewy glow that this product (blush/foundation.. whatever you want to call it) give my skin. I also love that it comes with a pump and the lasting power is super.

So what was the Plan B that I was referring to earlier? Mix this shade with a lighter more yellow based foundation that I own (e.g. Revlon's Nearly Naked) and voila I get my perfect shade. I may still employ this method and see how well it works.

So the moral of the story is, if you see a bargain somewhere think of what you could utilise the product as, don't just pass things up  thinking "that wont work for me", it pays to have a "can make work" attitude.

  6. I haven't tried any other Inglot blushes babe. I have way too many blushes!!! :) That lip colour is Clinique Exotic Shimmer. I hate the formula and the lipstick is broken and I need to depot it, but I do love the colour. Who knew a pink metallic lippy could look good on me?! :)
