The Menu - Brand Spotlight - Clinique

I have not done a Brand Spotlight post since my first one here which was about the Bobbi Brown products that I own. In these Brand Spotlight posts I only plan to include makeup items as skincare is something that I change all the time so it doesn't make sense (to me) to include skincare items in these posts. This time we are going to talk about Clinique.

Clinique is a brand that is close to my heart. I think its the first high end brand that I ever bought anything from. Clinique counters are always easy to navigate and not as intimidating as say MAC. I think the first ever foundation I bought was by Clinique (it's long gone so wont be in this post). Today, I only have a few things by Clinique as I have branched out in terms of my makeup quite a lot, but I still love the products that I do own and I use all of them regularly.

Products
I own three of the Clinique lipsticks and all of them are different finishes!

Clinique Different Lipstick Spiced Apple ($15) - is a gorgeous warm toned orangey brown which almost pull to a light rust shade. It is one of my favourite warm toned lipsticks. It will suit all skintones. I love the texture which is not emolient like a lip butter but not very hard. One swipe delivers enough pigmentation and some shine. Great for wearing to work. I also love that it offers decent moisturisation.

Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Twilight Nude ($15) - is a great formula for a lipstick. It's long wearing (5 hours on me), is not drying, and a gorgeous shade of is a gorgeous shiny dark berry shade. You can see that I have used it so much as I love it!

Clinique High Impact SPF 15 in Extreme Pink ($15) - is my least worn Clinique lipstick. Don't get me wrong, I love the shade. I just wish it wasn't so frosty. I also think that it emphasizes any dryness on my lips. I do like that it has the SPF though.

The Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Butter Pecan and the Blush in Sunset Glow ($21) was a gift with purchase and I don't really use the eyeshadows much (although I do like the brown as an all over colour) but I do use and LOVE the blush which is an amazing slightly shimmery deep coral colour which lasts on me for about 6 hours. I am annoyed that this does not swatch well though but when you apply with a brush the pigmentation is wonderful!

The Clinique Blushwear in Pink Sugar is my favourite cream highlight which I use regularly for work but I think this has been discontinued so I won't go on about this one too much.

L to R - Clinique Blushwear in Pink Sugar, Clinique Blush in Sunset Glow and Almost Bronzer SPF 15 in Medium/Deep
The Clinique Almost Bronzer SPF 15 in Medium/Deep ($28.50) was the first bronzer that I bought ever. I loved that it was so hard to over do and worked so well with my skintone. It adds a wonderful warmth to my face but I don't suggest you use this for contouring as this is not dark enough. The other feature I love about this bronzer is that it has 2 shades which you can choose how strong you want it. I have to mention that this bronzer has lots of shimmer but it doesn't transfer to my face but it's not totally matte either. I really like it. The bronzer also comes with a brush but I have never used it. I think Clinique have just discontinued this product so get it while you can. I think this might still be available in stores.

    1. Its a fab bronzer and you get quite a lot of product with it. It's still available on Apothica but I don't know for how long as it seems Clinique has discontinued it. They do make some good stuff but get overlooked a lot I think. xxx

  2. those are the kind of shades I wear! But I think I tanned abit too much, it's making my concealers the wrong shade.

    1. Thanks hun.. I just think that its fun to do a post all about one brand and then highlight what I own and what I like and then don't like. It also helps me shop my stash :)

  4. I love Clinque as a brand too, I agree with you that Mac is quite intimidating and Clinque seems friendly and nice :) xx

  6. Love the idea of doing a brand spotlight like this! Clinique was one of my very first lipsticks... I still have it even though I don't use it because it's so old!
