The Review - NYX Stick Blushes

Well summer is on it's last legs but I haven't come off my blusher high yet. I adore the dewy look not just for summer but year round and sometimes wearing a powder(y) blush can make you look artificially matte or dry. Then it logically follows that cream blushes can help maintain the dewy youthful look and so I decided to pick up three of NYX Stick blushes when they were on sale on Hautelook for $3 each, but you can buy these for $6 here.

Since the only cream blushes I currently own are the Stila Convertible Colours which are fine but not really worth the high price in my opinion. I was really intrigued by these blushes which come in a fabulously user friendly twist up packaging with no dipping your fingers into product required (unless you choose to). They are super pigmented and you need to be carefully not to over do them and make sure you blend well to avoid the scary doll look.

I have 3 of the shades, I think there are about 8 shades to choose from in total. I chose Hibiscus (a lovely corally colour), Tea Rose (a dusty rose colour) and Tulip (a pretty pink).

My preferred method to apply these is directly from the stick and then blending using my fingers. It leads to a gorgeous blushed look but I must say that these cream blushes (like all cream blushes I have used so far) do not last longer than 4 hours on me. So if you do want these to last, do add a little, very little, dusting of a powder blush on top to make it last all day.

I really like these, very easy to use and so reasonably priced. NYX is great, isn't it?
