The Review - You never cease to surprise me, oh Caudalie..

It's summer, which basically means that it's way too hot and humid to wear a full face of makeup. During this season, I love to wear a bit of primer, tinted moisturiser and slap on some lip balm (or a lip gloss - to combat any withdrawal symptoms from not wearing makeup) and call it a day. In this age of BB, CC, DD creams a simple tinted moisturiser is so wonderfully uncomplicated that I can't help but feel relaxed using it.

Today, I am going to share a new favourite tinted moisturiser which I discovered during my monthly stroll through Nordstrom Rack. Have I shared with you my love for bargain (discount) stores that also sell good quality makeup? Basically Nordstrom Rack (NR) is where anything that is left over from the regular Nordstrom stores is sold at 50% - 70% off the retail price. LOVE! When I saw the name Caudalie on a stack of long rectangular boxes in NR, I was shocked, could they be selling Caudalie stuff at a discount?! Well, the answer is yes, yes they were. For those who don't  know Caudalie is a french brand known for their organic, anti-oxidant rich products. The company's flagship product - the Beauty Elixir is a huge cult favourite. So naturally I was intrigued to see what possibly could be marked down that was manufactured by this company (coz let me tell you, their products are not cheap). It turned out to be the Caudalie tinted moisturiser. The sad part is that there was only one shade that was available - dark skin, but I decided to take the risk and get not one but two of these as they were marked down from $39.00 to $11.97 for 30 ml.

The gamble paid off, the shade is perfect for me and would suit anyone with NC40+ skin tone. I have to say if you are a little lighter than NC40, you could always mix this in with your daily moisturiser and lighten the shade and this would just warm up your face. Worth trying.

Firstly I love that it is packaged in a simple tube with a nozzle tip which allows for precise dispensation of the product. The product is not runny at all, but a true cream consistency with rich pigmentation. I love the typical Caudalie smell of it, and over all the quality of the Caudalie tinted moisturiser is impressive. It truly hydrates the skin, wish it contained SPF but that's a minor niggle. As with any tinted moisturiser the coverage is light but you could build it up slightly. There is no sticky or overly dewy feeling left on the skin. There is some very very slight sheen which isn't noticeable at all and only contributes to what I can only describe as a glow to the skin.

Caudalie say that their tinted moisturiser contains plant and anti-oxidant ingredients and will preserve the skin's youth. They say that this silky fluid moisturises, evens and brightens the complexion creating an immediate healthy, natural look.

I love this product and I think the two tubes will last me all through this summer and well into the winter when I'll use this on good skin days. Such a bargain at $12! I just had to share it with you guys. If you fancy using this hurry over to your Nordstrom Rack and see if you can find it. I might pop into mine tomorrow to see if they are still on sale and let you all know.
