Korres Zea Mays Blush Luminous Finish / Velvety Texture in 42 Apricot

Last month, I came across the Korres Zea Mays Blush Luminous Finish / Velvety Texture on sale and I grabbed it. However, as soon as I hit order I realised that I hadn't seen a swatch and although the name said apricot (which I told myself was the same as coral), I was a little worried that it might not be coral after all. Ah well, the deed was done and I waited for the blush to arrive.

When it did arrive, I looked at it in trepidation and did actually sigh with disappointment as I knew with just a glance that I had bought a blush that was not going to show up on my tan skin tone. Booo, because I love Korres as a brand, they try and use as many natural ingredients in their products and many of their products have a sweet spot in my heart. So I was debating on returning this thing but then I decided, I might as well swatch the blush and see whether I could make it work at all.

The minute I swatched it, I knew that I was not going to return it after all. It is SUCH a buttery texture to this powder blush, it basically just melts on your finger and the pigmentation is AMAZING even on such a "nude - for - me" colour.

So the packaging is delicious. It comes in a compact case, there is no tiny brush which I am so happy about, as I just toss them out usually. The case contains a lot of product - 7 g to be exact, which is huge for a blush. The outside casing is this wonderful dark brown plastic which glitters and feels sturdy, I also love that it comes with a great sized mirror.

The shade Apricot is a warm apricot colour which can be used as a blush if you are super pale. However for medium skin, this might be a good bronzer to warm up your skintone. For deep skin tones this might make a great natural warm highlighter.

For tan skintones like mine, this blush makes the perfect all over powder. It gives me a finish that is similar to that of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder but has a bit more coverage. There are very very miniscule gold particles in this powder that absolutely can't be seen individually on the skin but it does give you a natural glow! I use the Real Techniques Blush brush and find that it is difficult to over do this too which is great as you don't have to be super careful. I find that my makeup lasts longer and looks better when I use this blush as an all over powder. It's just lovely.

I know that QVC and HSN have Korres makeup and in the States Beautybar.com sells this Zea Mays Blush too for $24.00 (and they have 20% off right now!). Oh and there is always eBay. I figure even with using this as an all over this product will last me all year!
